KELOWNA RENOVATION EXPERTS.

A good renovation has more than square walls and new finishes. Done right, it can add value, cut energy costs, and truly make the space your space. The “done right” part is where having the right contractor matters. You need a team that knows the code, respects the budget, and keeps the schedule moving (rather than making excuses).

ARG Contracting brings expertise and experience to residential and commercial renovations across the Okanagan. We work shoulder to shoulder with you and the design team to plan the job properly, line up the right trades, and see it through. From major kitchen overhauls to full home transformations to additions, we focus on clear communication, solid workmanship, and projects that feel just as good to live or work in as they look on reveal day.

Choosing the right developers makes a real difference. When working with people who plan carefully, communicate openly, and respect the build process, projects go more smoothly, and the results tend to speak for themselves. HOW WE WORK.

Tell us more!
Every renovation starts with a conversation. We begin by finding out what matters most to you, whether you want better functionality, a modern look, more space, or a complete change. In our first meeting, we’ll talk about your vision, priorities, budget, and timeline.

Our goal is to make sure we understand not only what you want to renovate, but why—so we can tailor the plan to fit both your lifestyle and long-term goals.

Walk us through your home to show us the existing space—reviewing structure, layout, mechanical systems, access points, and potential challenges such as load-bearing walls, ceiling heights, and older electrical or plumbing.

For homes built before 1994, contamination testing is required to identify materials such as asbestos, lead-based paint, or vermiculite insulation. We coordinate and help you arrange this testing, although we do not perform it ourselves. If the home tests clean, that is the best-case scenario and allows the project to proceed without added remediation costs.

After we learn about your goals and the space, we start the concept phase. We often work together with your designer or one of our trusted partners. We’ll create a concept layout or design direction that matches your vision and fits the structure and limits of your home.

At this stage, we also give you an overview of possible costs and let you know about any code or permit requirements.

With concept drawings and an outline of your renovation goals, we prepare a Preliminary Budget Estimate.

This is not a fixed quote but a working framework to guide decisions.
It’s built from a combination of past ARG project data, current material pricing, and real-world site considerations. We use this stage to ensure the design aligns with your investment goals and that there are no surprises later.

Before beginning detailed design, engineering, or permitting, we establish a Preconstruction Agreement. This formalizes the planning phase and covers design coordination, detailed budgeting, and any required exploratory work, such as wall openings or scans to assess existing conditions.

This agreement provides clear details on deliverables, timelines, and costs before you sign the final construction contract.

Concepts are finalized, design is defined; time to coordinate with trades and produce a detailed Cost-Plus budget breakdown. Here you’ll begin making material and finish selections—cabinetry, flooring, lighting, plumbing fixtures, etc.

We update your budget in real time through BuilderTrend to reflect each choice, ensuring total transparency and no surprises.

With the scope, drawings, and selections confirmed, we issue your Cost-Plus Construction Agreement and Draw Schedule. We’ll confirm construction timelines, site logistics, and any temporary living arrangements (if needed).

Once permits (if applicable) are approved, your project moves into the construction phase—with weekly updates and milestone tracking provided through BuilderTrend.

Before work begins, we host a kick-off meeting with you to review access details, communication expectations, and schedule milestones. Our site and project management team coordinates all aspects of construction, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum quality.
